My dad called the police on my bf for no reason?

So I'm 15 and my boyfriend is 17. My dad called the special victims bureau on him and I don't know why. He's never abused me or sexually assaulted me in any way. My dad said that I'm not allowed to date until I'm 16 is this the reason why he called? Can my boyfriend get in trouble for doing nothing wrong? I just really hate my dad and I'm scared that my boyfriend is going to get in trouble for nothing :(
