"I can't believe it's not butter!" but it is?

Can someone please explain this. I'm getting frustrated trying to figure this out. "I can't believe it's not butter!" but it is butter. There's butter and there's margarine. If it's not butter it's margarine right? So therefore "I can't believe it's not butter!" isn't really butter but margarine although there's some discrepancies about it.
