Do I need to change my address, license plate, insurance, or drivers license to get a job in another state?

I have been told that I would need to change my address, license plate, insurance, and my drivers license to get a job in another state. I need to know the merit in this, as I'm really not sure if this is true. My insurance is a local bureau, so I can understand that, although everything else doesn't make sense to change since I just need this job for the summer.
