Debt collection information?

Ok. So a judgment was put on my credit back in 2005 - I really didn't care if it was valid or not until now because I really need my credit for something. I have been able to get it removed from two of the bureaus but not the 3rd. The debt is not valid and I have tried to contact the bank I had at the time for proof but they don't keep records back that far and I have tried contacting the company with absolutely no luck. I ran across an email last night that stated the company withdrew its business from the US back in 2007 (that would explain why I cant get ahold of them). Can they still legally try to collect this debt from me or can I use this information to have it removed from my 3rd report? Any information ASAP would be greatly appreciated!
